Creative Lunch is a lunch time activity that meets once a week with the goal of providing all students with the opportunity to uniquely and creatively express themselves!
Sculptures
Students got the opportunity to create in the third dimension by making sculptures using clay!
Paper Mache Eggs
What's more fun than getting a little messy while creating? Students got the chance to paper mache with tissue paper to create colorful eggs!
Optical Spirals
Using vibrant oil pastels, students created seemingly three dimensional spirals on a two dimensional plane!
Aurora Borealis
Chalk is a great media due to it's ability to blend and smear across a canvas! In this activity, students watched a video of Aurora Borealis and then had the opportunity to create their very own on a piece of black construction paper. When the students were done they sprayed their paper with hairspray to solidify the chalk!
Notan
Notan is an art form created in Japan in which paper is cut into and reflected. By simply cutting paper one can create an eye catching image!
City Nights
Students cut out stencils, placed the stencils on black paper, outlined the stencils with chalk and then smeared the chalk away from the stencils. This created an awesome effect that made the image appear as if there was light behind it!
Sun Catchers
Crayons aren't just for coloring! In this activity, students used pencil sharpeners to shave down crayons. They then arranged the different color shavings to create an image of their choice. Once their image was complete, their piece was ironed; melting the crayon and creating the perfect sun catcher!
